Danish crime author on verge of big breakthrough in Germany
The Danish crime novel author Steffen Jacobsen is on the brink of making the big time in Germany.
With his three volume series on private detective Michael Sander and Police Lieutenant Lene Jensen, Steffen Jacobsen has established himself as one of the best Danish cop-thriller authors of this present age. Over 50,000 copies have been sold in Denmark, and now those outside Denmark are set to discover this master of the Danish crime thriller genre. In Germany, over 45.000 copies of the first two instalments in the series have been sold already. Translation of no. 3 is currently in progress.
The first book in the series, Trophy , has sold 30,000 copies, and over 15,000 copies of book 2, Revenge, have also been sold. Rasmussen’s upcoming third book in the series, A Mountain of Lies and Deceit, is now in great demand in Germany following brilliant reviews in Denmark. Trophy has already been sold to the UK, France, Holland, Japan, Czech Republic and China. The most recent sale of the series is to the USA.
