Who may apply

Curators, festival directors, publishers, heads of institutions and other cultural exponents from abroad. The programme covers the following areas

• Visual arts

• Literature

• Music

• Performing arts

Purpose of the program

To provide cultural exponents from abroad with the opportunity to acquire an insight into contemporary Danish art and the Danish art scene, and to strengthen networking and dialogue between the Danish and international art scenes.

How your application will be evaluated

Criteria

At least one of these abov criteria must be met:

  • The visit must promote and strengthen the international networks of Danish artists and/or Danish art institutions
  • The visit must play a decisive role in promoting awareness abroad of Danish artists and/or Danish art institutions
  • The visit must promote concrete collaborations between Danish and foreign art

Who will evaluate your application

The Danish Arts Agency’s individual art centres assess the applications according to the above criteria as laid down by the Danish Arts Council.

How much you may apply for

The length of a typical research visit is 3-7 days, grants for longer stays can be sought in cases where the applicant covers the cost of their own accommodation. Application can be made for grants of a maximum of DKK 15,000, to cover the direct cost of travel and accommodation. Form of travel and of accommodation must be of standard economy class. Grants are only awarded to cover these two forms of expenditure and not for general living expenses, per diem payments etc. Applicants from developing countries can also apply for a subsistence allowance. The definition of a developing country follows the criteria set by the Danish Centre for Culture and Development. See list here

We recommend that you consult the application form and have the necessary information and documents/files ready before you start.

Applications which do not contain the requisite information will not be considered.

Once you have submitted the application
