International Contemporary Art Festival in Copenhagen 2012
In 2008, the U-TURN contemporary art festival was held with support from the Danish Arts Council. Now the Danish Arts Council would like to establish a recurring contemporary art festival that will become a major event in the Danish art world. The festival is intended to create international attention, to stimulate the Danish contemporary arts scene, and to promote interest in contemporary art with the public at large.

The Venice Biennial
The Venice Biennial, being the world’s largest and oldest biennial of international contemporary art, is held in Venice every second year from June till November with participation from a large number of countries. The 54nd Biennial will take place in the summer and autumn of 2011.

Throughout the years, the Venice Biennial has served as an example for the growing number of larger or smaller art biennials all over the world. However, despite increasing competition, it has managed to preserve its status as one of the most significant international events within contemporary art.
